Arnhem Sinfoniëtta is the largest non-professional symphony orchestra in Arnhem and the surrounding areas. The orchestra annually holds several concerts in Arnhem and its environment. Renowned soloists, young talents, choirs, and sometimes dancers regularly participate in the concerts. The orchestra is conducted by Alexej Pevzner. He was born in Moscow in 1972, where he studied at the famous Gnessin School of Music and at the Music College of the Conservatory. In 1990, Alexej Pevzner moved to the Netherlands, where he completed his violin training at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam. He then studied orchestral conducting at the Conservatory of Maastricht. Since 1994, Alexej Pevzner has been employed by Phion as the second concertmaster.

Musis has the privilege of owning a beautiful Kam and van der Meulen organ from 1842. The two-manual organ was built as a salon organ and was later fitted with a pipe front. Since 1931, the organ hung in the dome of Museum Arnhem, where it was damaged during World War II. In 1968, it was restored by the firm Leeflang. Thanks in part to the initiative of city organist Johan Luijmes, it has now found its place in the balcony hall of Musis. Would you like to hear and experience how this beautiful organ sounds?
